Why should I become a member of Momshare?
Everyone has their own reason for wanting to join MomShare. Here are a few that we often see:
You are about to have a child, but find yourself lacking all those "little things" that add up to a whole lot.
You are a mom who is having a baby of a different gender than your older child(ren) and cannot afford to – or prefer not to – go out and buy new things. Perhaps you will offer up those gently used boy or girl items and look for things the new baby will need.
You want to give back. You have stuff that your kids no longer use and want to help a family in need.
You find yourself in both positions at different times. You want to help, but sometimes need help as well.
No matter the category you fall into, MomShare is for you.
What do I get for being a member of MomShare?
First and foremost, you get to be part of this wonderful and supportive group of women. To help. To be helped. To share.
Members get access to our forums and the help of our administrators. Our forums are where items are offered and people can get in touch with moms in their area.
Our administrators have posted helpful links to places where families in need can get help in their area. Our Assistance Team will also offer personalized help, if needed.

Does it cost to join MomShare?
No.
We used to charge a $5 yearly fee but in the end we were waiving fees
for those in need. We never actually collected a yearly fee. So we
decided to get rid of it
Doesn't it cost money to run MomShare?
Yes.
Keeping a website up and running takes a little money. The women who have put together MomShare alternate between being “moms who have” and “moms who need” just like a lot of people these days. We normally try to use our own funds but we cannot always afford it. If we get monetary donations to the General Fund, it goes toward running the website and keeping the domain name. We also use the funds to purchase supplies for our drives, purchase cheap clothing for our moms in need and more
We also try to help with shipping. Sometimes shipping costs can mean the difference between one mom receiving what she needs or not.
We have been working toward becoming a non-profit. It has been an unwieldy process, to say the least. Once that happens, we will be able to get lower shipping costs for our members. In the meantime, it breaks our hearts when the cost of shipping breaks a deal. We would love to be able to help out in those cases.
You can donate to MomShare by clicking the paypal button on the left or visiting our shop. If you want your donation to go towards shipping please list that. If nothing is listed, it goes into the General fund and it is used where it is needed.
Are your administrators paid?
No. It would be nice if in the future that could happen but at this time all administration positions are volunteer.
